The walk from Rinsey Point to Porthleven follows a spectacular section of the South West Coast Path, combining dramatic coastal scenery with Cornwall’s rich mining heritage. Leaving Rinsey Head, the trail passes the iconic Wheal Prosper engine house and the ruins of the Trewavas mines, perched high above the sea. The path undulates along rugged cliffs with sweeping views across Mount’s Bay and the Lizard Peninsula, offering chances to spot seabirds, seals and, on clear days, distant landmarks along the coast. After a series of gentle climbs and descents, the route approaches the striking slate cliffs above Porthleven before descending into the harbour, where colourful fishing boats, cafés and the historic harbour walls provide a rewarding finish to this memorable coastal walk.
